Working on Sundays, Karen and I seem to get more false crawls than we get nests sometimes. We feel that this is due to the weekend activity on the beach and possibly from people scaring off the turtles (hopefully not intentionally). After many disappointing false crawls, we were so excited to find a nest mound! As we crawled up the scarp, we found that the nest had been poached. Kind of a sad day on the beach today...

We finally had some action today. We had a nest and false crawl in Ocean Reef Park.
Was nice to pull out the equipment and get some practice on how to gather all the data.
I am ready for lots of nests and lots of hatchlings!
